杨斯盛简介：

杨斯盛，字锦春，小名阿毛，是上海浦东蔡路青墩人。他的父亲早逝，他在13岁时到上海学习泥水匠技艺。他不仅精通建筑设计，还能操英语，认识许多欧美人，尤其是与英商公平洋行的大班阿摩尔思关系密切。

杨斯盛成就：

1880年，杨斯盛创设了上海近代建筑史上第一家资本主义性质的营造厂——杨瑞泰营造厂。这一举措为他赢得了“近代建筑营造业的一代宗师”之称。他还曾帮助同业解决难题，如参与重修“鲁班殿”和筹建水木工业公所。

杨斯盛荣誉：

他以颖敏巧思著称于同业。例如，当时市场上有国外进口的窗户玻璃，因尺寸比一般窗框设计缩小一圈，无人肯要，但他却将这些廉价购买并镶嵌木边，用到了住宅工程中，大受欢迎。此外，他热心帮助同业，为同业所敬重，并在海关及西人住所从事房屋修建工作，熟悉西方近代建筑技术。

Yang Sui-sheng, also known as Jin Chun, was a renowned figure in the construction industry of his time. Born in 1851 in Shanghai's Pudong area, Yang lost his parents at a young age and began working as a carpenter at the age of 13.

Career Highlights:

In 1880, Yang established the first capitalist-style construction company in Shanghai - Yang Ruite Construction Co., Ltd. This pioneering move earned him the title of "a pioneer in modern construction industry." He also played a significant role in several notable projects during his career.

Awards and Recognition:

Throughout his life, Yang received numerous accolades for his contributions to the field. For instance, he once purchased surplus imported glass from foreign countries that were too small for standard window frames. By adding wooden borders around them, he made them suitable for residential projects and gained widespread recognition among clients.

Social Impact:

Apart from his professional achievements, Yang was deeply committed to social welfare causes. In 1904-05, he donated funds to support education initiatives such as establishing schools and libraries. His dedication towards education led him to establish private schools like Qingming School (Qingming Xuetang) and later founded Pudong Middle School with an initial investment of over twenty thousand silver dollars.
