In his third journey, Zheng He was tasked with visiting India's southern tip – Sri Lanka – to offer worship to its Buddha teeth relic. This mission seemed like a peaceful endeavor but concealed profound political implications. The king of Sri Lanka at that time was Arya Dathu who disregarded Buddhism and brutally treated merchants - making it clear that this trip wasn't just about religious matters but also involved national interests.
