唐 Dynasty, also known as the Golden Age of Chinese History, saw a resurgence in economic and cultural development. It was during this time that the Silk Road flourished, connecting China to other parts of Asia and Europe. The Tang Dynasty's capital Chang'an (modern-day Xi'an) became one of the world's largest cities and a center for art, literature, science, and technology.
The Song Dynasty followed after a period of turmoil caused by invasions from nomadic tribes. This period saw significant advancements in agriculture, technology, education and trade. The invention of gunpowder during this era further transformed warfare.
Ming Dynasty marked the return to traditional Confucian values with Emperor Hongwu establishing his capital at Nanjing. However it was during Qing dynasty that China reached its zenith under Kangxi Emperor who expanded borders significantly through military conquests.
Qing dynasty also saw some major social changes like foot binding which affected women’s lives but were banned later on by Empress Cixi who ruled as regent for her son Tongzhi emperor when he died young.
The fall of Qing dynasty marked an end to imperial rule in china paving way for republicanism under Sun Yat-sen’s leadership.
