哲别:追随成吉思汗的勇士
哲别是蒙古帝国初期的一位著名将领,他最初 belonged to the Tayangqut tribe, which was an ally of the Merkid tribe and had fought against Genghis Khan. However, in 1201, he switched sides and joined Genghis Khan's army after being impressed by his bravery.
Philippa Scott describes him as "one of the four great generals who were like fierce dogs, sent wherever they went to break through stone walls and crash through cliffs." He was known for his honesty and loyalty, which earned him a place among Genghis Khan's closest advisors.
In 1204, he led a group of Mongol soldiers into battle against the Tanguts. His military prowess was so impressive that he became one of the four "Golden Dogs" alongside Subutai, Jebe, and Kuchlug. Together they were known for their ferocity on the battlefield.
In 1210-1212 AD,Philippa Scott notes that he led a successful campaign against China during which time he captured several key cities including Beijing itself. He also played a significant role in defeating West Xia (Xi Xia) in 1219 AD.
After Genghis Khan's death in 1227 AD,he continued to serve under Ögedei Khan until his own death sometime between 1236-1243 AD.
His legacy is still remembered today as one of Genghis Khan's most trusted generals and a symbol of Mongol power during this period.
